What We Do

In order that we may further “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” (2 Peter 3:18), the St. Irenaeus Institute offers a series of ongoing and periodic group discussions, seminars, roundtable presentations, symposia, and special lectures featuring noted Orthodox writers and theologians.

Among the various areas of faith covered are scripture, prayer, and worship in the Orthodox tradition, as well as topics in church history, patristics, sacred art, spirituality, and Orthodox responses to contemporary issues. Above all, events and activities are focused to address the paramount question: How shall we live our lives as faithful Orthodox Christians?

Meeting space for all events offered by the St. Irenaeus Institute is provided though the two campus facilities of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church: the main sanctuary in the historic Central West End and the new Family Life Center in West St. Louis County. Depending on event needs, other venues may also be chosen.
